About the Garbage Men Band
The Garbage-Men are a band from Sarasota, FL, who, since 2010, have been promoting sustainability and creativity within their community by playing music on DIY recycled instruments.
The band formed in March of 2010 after Jack built his first guitar from a recycled cereal box and an old yardstick. Inspired by this, Ollie conceived the idea to create a band that would exclusively perform using instruments made from trash.
The band now consists of seven members and has created over twenty-five unique instruments, all of which are played at their shows. They perform regularly across Florida, including on the streets, at festivals, and at charity events.
