To help visitors navigate the site during construction – whether walking, running or biking – please use the temporary walking map provided below.
Pedestrian Bridge Closure: Until the Fall, we will be dredging the bayou to remove more than three feet of polluted silt that has been accumulating in the bayou for decades. During this time, the pedestrian bridge will be closed. But don’t worry! We will open another leg of the Mangrove Bayou Walkway – allowing full access around the bayou.
Sidewalk Closure: As we begin construction of a new 8-foot wide, ADA-accessible sidewalk along the north side of Boulevard of the Arts, the walkway between Van Wezel Way and US 41 will continue to be closed. All pedestrian traffic will be shifted to the sidewalk on the south side of Boulevard of the Arts.
If you’re coming to visit The Bay, please use the entrance at the 10th Street roundabout. There is plenty of parking available in the Van Wezel and Historic District parking lots.
