Historic District Parking Lot Reopens

The Historic District parking lot along US41/Tamiami Trail, between Blvd. of the Arts and 10th Street, has reopened. Various improvements were made to the lot, including resealing and restriping the spaces. In addition, a new 10-foot-wide pedestrian/bike path was added along the east side of the lot to connect the Fruitville and 10th Street roundabouts.

From January 11 – 25, the south end of Van Wezel Way that often floods several times a year will be temporarily closed to replace underground, undersized stormwater pipes in that location. The City of Sarasota’s waterline replacement project on Blvd. of the Arts also continues to make progress, and traffic patterns may change.

While both of these projects are underway, we continue to encourage visitors to access The Bay via 10th Street and then park along Van Wezel Way, in the Van Wezel parking lot or the Historic District parking lot. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out via Ask The Bay.
